Reality of creative education and problems with education management in Vietnam: A case study of some northern provinces

This article focuses on creative education and management issues in schools; analyzes and assesses the current status of creative education in Vietnam high schools in Hanoi, Nam Dinh and Quang Ninh through a survey for 190 teachers and 220 students from three high schools about factors that form creative education, the level of expression and relationship between the components of creative education as well as factors that impede creative education development in high schools; thereby making recommendations on educational management in Vietnam today.

Effects of vstep on students’ learning motivation at Vietnam national uinversity, Hanoi

The findings show that VSTEP has significant impact on students’ learning motivation; however, students doubt that the current English programs could help them achieve their learning target. Besides, a number of students perceive the difficulty level of the test based on rumor and do not pay much care about the content and format of the test. This study also proposes recommendations to increase the positive effects of the test to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process.

The paper also proposes a matrix of assessment toolkits and corresponding criteria of collaborative problem solving competence in teaching chemistry of the non-metals using interdisciplinary integrated teaching perspective and Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle. Each assessment tool specifically analyzes the functions and techniques implemented in students' collaborative problem solving processes.

Parents’ perception of and willingness for using internet based mental health application for children

Although ready to let their children use the apps, a number of parents are concerned about the confidentiality of the information, the legality and effectiveness of the apps. Some technologically incapable parents are reluctant to use the apps, worried about online payment risk which may not be covered by the insurance. Some recommendations and limitations of the study are also given.

Barriers and interventions to the use of educational technology in teaching

The present study was conducted in two state agricultural universities i.e., one from north and one from south part of India. The universities were selected purposively based on the utilization of ET for creating better teaching approaches among teachers. Teachers of these two universities were randomly selected as a respondent from various departments.30 respondents from one university and 30 from other, thus the sample size of the study being 60. Data was collected through interview schedule and collected data were subjected to appropriate statistical analysis. The study indicated that the majority of the respondents faced barriers viz., lack of management of available budget in order to address financial barriers, heavy work load with teaching under administrative barriers, lack of training in use of hardware and software under technology barriers, lack of motivation to use of ET and Lack of interest in using ET tools under psychological barriers, lack of advance teaching aids under physical and material barriers respectively. The interventions provided by the majority of the respondents were funds may be available in time, allotment of nonacademic work would be reduced, provide training on advanced educational technologies, training on knowledge and skill development regarding ET and improvement of lab facilities for teaching. Generally, this paper provides information and recommendation to those responsible for the use of new technology tools into Teaching.

Innovation in entrance examination in Vietnam universities, knowledge based assessment into competency based assessment

This paper introduces the situation of entrance examination in Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Then, this paper evaluates the relationship between the entrance exam and the learning outcomes of HUST’s students which will partly contribute to the practical fundamental of these changes. Based on analysis of advantages and disadvantages in enrollment exams, the paper proposes the model of competency based assessment and the steps for renew the entrance examination.
