The DS3 Fiber Loop Converter (DS3 FLC) is an alternative to high bit-rate DS3 multi-
plexers, allowing an economical last mile DS3 transport or a point of presence hand off.
The DS3 FLC is a plug and play system that can be configured to maximize facilities
utilized for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint topologies and can be optioned for 1:1

alternative to deploying service over copper while avoiding the high capital investment
of primary multiplexers and Fibre optic terminals. This family includes products
designed for economical distribution of single or multiple 2.048 Mb signals.
The E1 Quad FLC multiplexes up to four 2.048 Mb signals for transport over two fibres
at typical distances of 72 Km (44 miles). The E1 QFLC system consists of a rack
mounted central exchange shelf and a wall or rack mounted customer premises shelf.

amount of equipment to supply these services to customers is dramatically increasing. And the
number of manufacturers who provide equipment to the carriers is exploding at an even more

The Soneplex HDSL Remote (HLXR) module operates with ADC's
Soneplex HDSL Central Office module to provide full duplex DS1
transport over two unconditioned, non-loaded copper loops. This
200 mechanics HLXR module is compatible with a variety of
indoor and outdoor enclosures, including a network interface
device. It supports span powered HDSL service up to 12,000 feet.
One HDSL repeater extends the HDSL distance up to 24,000 feet,
or 36,000 feet with two repeaters. Three models are available,

The Soneplex DS3 Remote Control System provides for centralized manage-
ment of up to seven remotely located Soneplex Broadband Systems. By using
an existing overhead channel in DS3 links, provisioning, monitoring, and
alarm information can be easily attained without the need for a secondary

vices today are being delivered
with the same architecture used in

HDSL is a powerful, cost-effective, T1-based transport technology that
leverages existing copper infrastructure and is, therefore, of great interest to
both subscribers and service providers. It uses central office (CO) units at the
carrier's office and remote units at the customer site and may, depending
upon distance, require HDSL repeaters over the length of the copper span.
