A comparative study of ideological differences in news reports on the us and china trade war

The findings of the study revealed the divisive ideologies regarding the trade war in the USand the unified and consistent ideologies in China, indicating the superficial language variations are caused by differences in ideologies as the hidden and driving forces behind the discursive discourse forms. This study further contextualized the trade conflicts within the nexus of the US hegemony, the increasing national power of China, and the concept of “China threat” to interpret the complex ideological differences hidden in the newstexts in the time of national conflicts.

Materials, student’s work and her traces in teaching history of spain: A case study

In this work we delve, through a case study, into the significance of the teacher’s aids provided on-line and off-line. The participant’s work is recorded with the traces she leaves in the documents she develops; their analysis and interpretation permitted a better understanding of the processes followed in teaching History of Spain and identify other learning taking place at the same time as the academic. The analysis of the latter, specified in the emotions and in the planning of a talk on a topic in the curriculum, it has revealed another world of learning that cango unnoticed.

The perceptions of beginner EFL students on corrective feedback in speaking classes in relation to their levels of foreign language anxiety

The purpose of this quantitative study was to investigate the perceptions of beginners EFL learners on corrective feedback (CF) in speaking classes in relation to their levels of anxiety. Two questionnaires were used to collect data, The Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) (Horwitz, Horwitz, & Cope1986) and Corrective Feedback Beliefs Scale (CFBS) (Fukuda, 2004). The participants were 57 female Saudi students studying English in a privet language center.

Effects of supervisors’ leadership style on employee organizational commitment in Taiwan’s small and medium enterprises: The role of trust

This study collected questionnaires from 369 employees of small and medium enterprises in Taiwan, where the economic structure is dominated by SMEs, in order to analyze the effects of leadership style on organizational commitment and explore the role of trust between them. After factor analysis(exploratory, confirmatory), reliability and validity testing, multiple comparisons, and multiple regression analysis, the following results are obtained: (1)leadership style has significantly positive effects on organizational commitment.

The erasure and disappearance of indigenous women

In response to the latest statistics regarding the violence and disappearance of Indigenous women, the authors of this paper attempt to honor the often overlooked sacrifices they make for the physical and spiritual well-being of Indigenous peoples. The abstract statistics are manifested in the lives of two Indigenous women who mysteriously disappeared but left a lasting impression on one of the current authors. Specifically, he carries with him their lessons of tribal relational identity, true equality between the sexes, and the belief that love given selflessly never ever really disappears.

Teaching complex intraverbals and response variability in children with autism spectrum disorder

The variability consisted inthe emission of category item names under different sequences. As a result, the targets were established for both children. For one of them, the procedure without instructive feedback was slightly better because errorless intraverbal performance was established first. Demonstrations of response variability occurred in more teaching sessions. In the case of the other child, it was the opposite (the procedure with instructive feedback was better). Data were discussed as to possibilities for future studies.

Sensitizing undergraduate students to the nature of white privilege: A guide for college teaching

This paper addresses racism and white privilege in America. Racism is generally discriminatory policy and behavior aimed at oppressing nonwhites whereas white privilege is the advantage gained by whites that is not due to ability or merit. It is argued that white privilege is largely invisible and that this allows the current unacceptable status quo to continue. A survey of items is offered as a tool to be used by college teachers to sensitize students to the nature and effects of white privilege.

Nomophobia impacts physiological arousal of moderate and heavy smartphone users who are not allowed to access text messages during a cognitive task

This study examined physiological stress reactions—galvanic skin response (GSR) and heart rate—to an induced state of nomophobia (inability to use one’s smartphone). A 2 x 2 experimental design was employed: half the participants received text message smartphone alerts that they could not answer; the other half silenced and put away their phones. Half the participants were heavy technology users and half were moderate technology users to examine stress reactions between groups that had previously displayed differing levels of self-reported anxiety.

The means to the desired end: Using the robust learning model (RLM) approach to achieve student learning outcomes regardless of mode of delivery

This research study examined the role of the Robust Learning Model in achieving student-learning outcomes, regardless of the mode of delivery, e.g., online and on-campus courses. Results from this archival data analysis show that students in undergraduate level courses provided similar and high responses for items that measured learning outcomes whether they learned in the traditional classroom setting or online courses. The researchers discuss the results of the study along with the unique pedagogy and proprietary technological system that are the primary drivers in achieving the high ratings on student learning outcomes reported by online and on-ground students.

Autism in contemporary TV shows: A qualitative study of the impact of educators perceptions on neurodiverse learners

The perceptions nondisabled form from viewing autistic characters in TV can influence their perception of autistic learners. Thematic analysis informed by the disability studies framework reveals that modern-day TV shows feature common autistic stereotypes less representative of the autistic population. Such stereotypes create irreversible incorrect perceptions and beliefs in educators that hurt real autistic students and their community. Then, educators must view TV shows with a critical lens so that they do not form inaccurate perceptions of autistic learners.
