The Central Statistics Office has registered increased availability in part-time courses in Ireland over recent years. This study aims to investigate the motivators driving part-time study and the impact studying part-time has on professional and personal lives of full-time employees in Ireland. Utilising a qualitative research approach, data was collected using open ended, semi-structured interviews on six desirable participants and examined using thematic analysis. Extracted information was interpreted and discussed. Findings implied that the main motivators were based around career progression and opportunistic personal development. The concept of change management has been evident for centuries. However, it has dramatically increased in the twenty first century as forces driving change are evolving at an increasing speed and the effects of a worldwide recession can be felt. Throughout the years organisations have put in place various methods and methodologies to manage change which include; structural, process and technological change. However, it is interesting to note that despite the fact that change is a topical subject amongst academics and consultants, only one third of all change initiatives succeed. Although there is no one model to ‘fit’ all organisations, given the increasing factors influencing Irish public sector transformation and the lack of academic research in this area to-date, it is hoped that this study will assist change projects in the Irish public service. This study seeks to evaluate the barriers to employment in the UK which limit the mobility of EU nations between EU member states. Three objectives were set which consist of the following: identify the ability of doctors and nurses to move between EU countries, identify the main stakeholders of the UK's healthcare industry and identify mobility barriers present in UK hospitals. The literature suggests that the main type of professional migrants going to UK hospitals consist of permanent settlers and temporary professional transients. Master Thesis in Economics: An investigation on brand loyality of soft drinks in Ireland
This  study  explores  brand  loyalty  behaviour  on  soft  drinks  and  examines  key  brand  loyalty factors:  brand  name,  product  quality,  price,  style,  store  environment,  promotion  and  service quality. Consumers are classified into two categories by their degree of brand loyalty: hard-core  loyal  customers  and  brand  switchers.  The  study  concludes  that  brand  name,  style  and promotion  are  the  key  brand  factors  which  can  distinguish  hard-core  loyal  customers  and brand switchers. Brand name and style have more influence on the brand loyalty of hard-core loyal customers, while promotion influences more on that of brand switchers. With the proliferation of technology, SMEs in the IT  sector  are  a  major  economic  driver.  In  Ireland,  SMEs  account for  $10  billion  annually  and employ more than 900,000 people. Master Thesis in Economics: An examination of fiscal contraction in an open economy with fiscal and monetary restrictions, the case of Ireland
An important theory that should be acknowledged by Irish fiscal decision makers(which the author found in the secondary research and was able to support through their primary research) is that the raising of taxes has a more profoundly negative effect on an economy than cuts made to government expenditure. In the conclusion, the researcher recognises the many adverse socio-political effects re-sulting from austerity- but highlights there are indications to show that austerity is being effective, demonstrated by the sharp decline in the Irish budget deficit and its ability to return to the international bond markets. These findings, however, may be immature as Ireland still finds itself in an EU-IMF bailout situation, with a very high Debt/GDP ratio and a severe unemployment rate. Master Thesis in Economics: An empirical study on the attitudes of bank managers
A structured questionnaire was completed by middle level bank manager’s to test their attitudes towards the four dimensions of CSR proposed by Carroll (1979). The study found that bank managers ranked the economic dimensions as the most important responsibility followed by legal, philanthropic and ethical. Furthermore, Interviews were held with two senior bank managers to investigate the reasons why the order of priority differs from Carroll (1979) and Visser (2008) who adapted the priority of dimensions in developing countries. The study found that the political action is not only having an immense effect on the attitudes towards CSR but that it is also the main reason banks are motivated to practice CSR. The study also revealed that banks were mostly involved in philanthropic and charitable activities. By the end of this study, it is intended to highlight the fact that banks and government have different perceptions of CSR. The purpose of this research is to find out the three main reasons about the low adoptability of internet banking in the villages of Haryana state in India. Here researcher consider the seven basic reason of low adoptability of internet banking such as 1) high rate of illiteracy, 2) fear of fraud, 3) unable to afford cost of internet, 4) lack of awareness about internet banking, 5) languages barriers, 6) unavailability of internet network connection and 7) unbanked villages. Master Thesis in Economics: A research into the motivating factors of Irish entrepreneurs to start-up
The research findings suggest that the entrepreneurs former place of employment is inadvertinly creating entrepreneurs. The findings also suggest that self-efficacy and risk taking is positively correlated to entrepreneurship, while simultaneously the fear of failure is a factor for many Irish entrepreneurs. The need for achievement and observing successful entrepreneurs were also prominent motivating factors for starting up a business. Having exposure to mentors was negatively correlated to ntrepreneruship and the findings in relation to the economic environmnet being an influence on the entrepreneurs intention to start-up an enterprise were inconclusive. Master Thesis in Economics: How does Project Risk Management Influence a Successful IPO Project? A Case Study of an Investment Bank in Malaysia.
In Malaysia, the initial public offering (IPO) market has seen some changes in 2016 due to poor economic conditions. Project risk management practices in IPO projects by investment bank are to be explored in this paper. This will be done to identify their positive impact on an IPO project in Malaysia to understand the significance of the role of project risk management in determining IPO success. The goal of the IPO is to obtain approval for it to be launched in the stock exchange market. The objectives of this paper are to identify the factors impacting on IPO processes and to understand the tools and techniques used in identifying and accessing the risks in an IPO project. In this case study, primary data was collected qualitatively with the corporate financiers in the investment bank. The findings show that the participants from the investment bank practice project risk management unsystematically as the participants lack project risk management knowledge. This study concluded that project risk management contributes to IPO success. Positive relationships are established between the corporate financiers and project risk management. Recommendations on involving a project manager in the IPO and implementing the best project risk management practices in an IPO through documentation are suggested by the researcher.
