The HEQ approach, promoted by the “Haute Qualité
Environnementale” Association, aims at improving the
environmental quality of new and existing buildings
i.e. to offer healthy and comfortable buildings which impacts
on the environment are the smallest as possible.
The French “HEQ” was approached in point 1.5 of the
chapter 1.

The HEQ association:
Created in 1996 on the initiative of the Plan Town-planning
Construction Structures (Plan Urbanisme Construction
Architecture) and after research works led since 1992
Purpose = to develop the environmental quality of buildings
in a joint way
HEQ association = place of exchanges, dialogue,
information, formation and action:
It puts in network the skills and the experiences of the
members, in order to help individual and collective projects.
By decree of 5th January, 2004, HEQ association is state-
approved.
