GPS Data Errors SELECTIVE AVAILABILITY ERRORS Prior to May 1, 2000, Selective Availability (SA) was a mechanism adopted by the Department of Defense (DoD) to control the achievable navigation accuracy by nonmilitary GPS receivers.
