Chanos chanos, commonly known as Milkfish is one of the most preferred and cultured brackish water finfish species across Southeast Asia. The major source of seed input is smaller fry collected from wild are sold off in minimum prize whereas fingerling size which can be attained in 1-2 month nursery rearing fetches a better prize.
