This study investigated the congruency of the classroom management styles and teacher-student relationship as well as its influence on student learning outcomes. The classroom management styles are categorized as authoritarian, autocratic, democratic and laissez faire. The study employed the quantitative aspect which was the determination of the profile, classroom management styles, teacher-student relationship and the learning outcomes.

The implementation of blended learning approach in higher education institutions – a solution to teaching English in large classes

This paper attempts to suggest a learning approach that is believed to solve the problem; the blended learning. This is not a new idea in language teaching literature. However, the combination between traditional face-to-face classroom and the application of Internet and communication technology might lessen the burden for the teachers because of the advantages of the learning approach. Students can develop selfregulated learning styles meanwhile teachers can take control of what their learners do outside classroom.

Teaching interpretation 1 at school of foreign languages: A brief evaluation and some activity examples

The author conducted a qualitative research project to see how it was designed and taught at the School of Foreign Languages. The researcher compared and analysed the course syllabus with NAATI test format, used a questionnaire and observed teachers’ classes to collect data. The findings showed a mismatch between the course’s important position and the standards by NAATI as well as the teaching methods demonstrated by the teachers.

Khảo sát vai trò của kỹ năng nói trong quá trình học tiếng Anh của sinh viên năm thứ 2 tại Học viện Quân y

Kỹ năng nói thường được nhận định là một kỹ năng quan trọng, thiết yếu của quá trình học ngoại ngữ nói chung và tiếng Anh nói riêng. Tuy nhiên, không phải người học nào cũng nhận thức được tầm quan trọng của kỹ năng nói và chủ động thực hành kỹ năng này. Nghiên cứu 220 sinh viên năm thứ 2 tại Học viện Quân y thông qua bộ câu hỏi thăm dò, chúng tôi thấy rằng kỹ năng nói giữ một vai trò quan trọng trong quá trình lĩnh hội tiếng Anh của hầu hết SV tham gia nghiên cứu.
