Teachers’ use of phonics instruction in teaching reading to young English learners
This study aims to investigate the views of the English primary school teachers about phonics instruction and their in-class practices of phonics instruction in teaching reading. A questionnaire, class observations and interviews were used to collect data, with a sample of 27 teachers from seven primary schools in a city in Central Vietnam.

Comparing LHU first-year English majored students’ reading strategies at high school level and university level
A plethora of studies have been conducted to examine the relationship between EFL students’ use of strategies and reading comprehension. Findings from those studies agree on a consensus that reading strategies possess a significant relationship with reading performance. This study functions as an attempt to contribute to previous findings by examining how students develop their reading strategies acquired from thematic texts at high school level to university level with authentic texts.

Students’ peer assessment practice in English speaking skills
This research is conducted to investigate non majored English students’ capability in peer assessment in fulfilling English speaking tasks. Literature review shows that peer assessment positively impacts students' achievements. In this study, an experimental approach was followed to develop an assessment rubric which students implement assessing their peers’ performance in-class activities.

Students’ attitudes towards the application of form focused instruction in the ommunicative classroom
Form-focused instruction (FFI) is an effective teaching technique for enhancing learners’ accurate oral performance. This action research aims at investigating the impacts of FFI in the communicative teaching context through students’ attitudes. In order to teach learners how to use past tenses in communication, the picture-based storytelling activity was applied in a 26-EFL-student communicative class of a university in Vietnam.

Dữ liệu dùng cho nghiên cứu được thu thập từ phiếu khảo sát và quan sát lớp học. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy giảng viên đã cố gắng áp dụng cách phân công nhiệm vụ và làm việc nhóm cho sinh viên.

Nghiên cứu điều tra việc sử dụng các hoạt động giao tiếp vào dạy kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh cho sinh viên không chuyên ngữ tại khoa Tiếng Anh Chuyên ngành, trường Đại học Ngoại ngữ, Đại học Huế.
