Improvement of optical setup of the novel 2D single-shot comb-based interferometer for high-resolution measurement

The novel 2D single-shot comb-based interferometer introduces a massive potential for inline inspection in the industrial chain. The system's advantages are based on a novel optical setup, which combines a new customized infrared pseudo comb light source with a reflected blaze grating acting as a spatial phase modulator. The optical comb source with multiple comb order introduces the system's fantastic ability to extend the measurement range far from the traditional interferometers.

Vulnerable road users overtaking path planning on urban road considering individual driving styles

In this paper, we proposed the path planning method considering driving styles of drivers for overtaking a moving vulnerable road user on urban road where there is no clear risk of collision. The optimal paths which were generated based on widely studied artificial potential field method are expected to be human-like and generally accepted by drivers.

Investigating and simulating the electrostatic field of four types of collectors in electrostatic dust filters

Electrostatic dust purifiers are widely used in many industries such as thermal power plants, cement plants, waste incineration and glass production. Optimization of the electrode and collector is important for higher efficiency (to achieve high efficiency) in electrostatic dust filtration. This study examines the electrostatic properties of four types of collector plates: flat, curved, spike, and spike with groove.

Development of real-time traffic object and traffic-sign detection models applied for autonomous intelligent vehicles

Technologies for detecting traffic objects are an essential requirement for any applications in autonomous intelligent vehicles. In this work, models for detecting traffic objects were developed. Based on the existing datasets and the pre-trained models, fine-tuning techniques were applied to achieve trained models with higher accuracies even for the very challenging test data.

Auto-tuning parameters of the offline optimal motion cueing algorithm with mean-variance mapping optimization

A motion cueing algorithm (MCA) not only maintains the simulator within its physical limits but also generates such movements of the driving simulator that the necessary motion cues of drivers on the realistic vehicle are equivalently reproduced. The offline optimal MCA focuses on finding the best combination of the translational acceleration and tilt angles of the motion platform to maintain drivers’ motion perception.

This paper presents an approximate method for analyzing the magnetic field to determine the location of the flow path in 3D. This method was verified on a hypothetical model built on ANSYS software and 3D physical model and then tested on magnetic field data measured at the study dam.

Determining a feasible working condition for hydrostatic spindle bearings of the external circular grinding machine 3K12

In a hydrostatic spindle of machine tools, the bearing structure parameters, lubrication characteristics and working conditions are factors affecting the spindle stiffness and the machining quality. Besides some known geometrical parameters and oil viscosity, other factors such as lubricant pressure and loading capacity need to be determined to find a feasible working condition for a machine tool.

This paper focuses on building a theoretical method, based on the calculation of hydraulic losses to predict the energy performance of a Low-specific speed Pump as Turbine (PaT) quickly and accurately that supported for the PaT’s impeller design. This paper investigates the effects of recirculation channel on the performance of a single-stage transonic axial compressor, NASA Stage 37, such as pressure ratio, adiabatic efficiency, and operating range. Numerical analysis was conducted by solving three-dimensional steady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the k-epsilon turbulence model.

Fuzzy adaptive controller design for IPMSM with system uncertainties and disturbances considering

This paper proposed a T-S fuzzy model based adaptive fuzzy controller for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motors. Firstly, the T-S fuzzy model of the system is built based on the nonlinear dynamic model. Next, the adaptive fuzzy controller is designed to deal with the problems of system uncertainties and external disturbances.

Study on the effect of nano-silver on the properties of nanocomposite based on unsaturated polyester

The masterbatch of unsaturated polyester (UP)/nano-silver obtained by using the Unidrive X1000 CAT mixer at 14000 rpm in 50 mins. The field emission scanning electron micrograph showed the flock of nano-silver has burst into smaller clusters and dispersed evenly in UP. The viscosity of matrix resin containing different nanosilver contents was almost unchanged except 100 ppm.

This paper proposes an accurate control method for position of a pneumatic cylinder using on-off solenoid valves in combination with a programmable logic controller. In order to deal with this purpose, an experimental setup of the pneumatic system using a double acting pneumatic cylinder, four on-off solenoid pneumatic valves and a PLC siemens S7-1200 is considered.

Comparison of simulation and experiment results of oil film temperature of the connecting-rod big end bearing in the experimental device

The paper compares the simulation and experiment results of the lubricating oil temperature in the connecting-rod big end bearing. Simulating hydrodynamic lubrication for the connecting-rod big end bearing based on solving Reynolds equations, oil film thickness equations, load balancing equations and energy equations combined numerical lubrication simulation for the bearing by modeling thermal problems for oil films using finite element method.

Voltage control of grid-connected PV system facing voltage sags

This article presents the development an auto adaptative voltage control integrated into the PV inverters. Facing the voltage sags, this control system allows the voltage at the connection point greater than an admissible voltage threshold of decoupling protection, the connection of PV system is so maintained. The models and simulations are developed in Matlab-Simulink. The obtained results are satisfied.

Study and modeling DNA-preconcentration microfluidic device

In this study, to enhance diagnostic efficiency, we focus on the effect of ion concentration polarization (ICP), an electroosmotic (EO) flow, electrophoretic (EP) velocity, and the selective membrane length upon the DNA preconcentration. The study is conducted using the direct simulation of the ions and DNA transport in the electrokinetic system.
