Mayesian network of traffic accidents in Malaysia

The results suggests that weather plays a major role in the increase of traffic accidents, and occurs by disrupting lighting conditions which then disrupts the traffic systems. Furthermore, the results indicate that fatal accidents have a higher likelihood to occur in head-on, turn over and out of control accidents.

Validation assessments on resampling method in imbalanced binary classification for linear discriminant analysis

The analysis on the location and dispersion statistics of the performance measures was further enlightened on: (i) the effect of a resampling method on the performance of LDA, and (ii) the enhancement in the learning fairness of LDA on objects regardless of sample size, hence reducing the effect of the curse of class imbalance.

An online framework for civil unrest prediction using tweet stream based on tweet weight and event diffusion

The results showed that the proposed framework outperformed the existing framework in terms of F1 score, accuracy, balanced accuracy, false acceptance rate, false rejection rate, and Matthews correlation coefficient.

An intelligent software defined networking controller component to detect and mitigate denial of service attacks

In this paper, a new SDN controller component was proposed to detect and mitigate DoS attacks in the SDN controller. POX layer three controller component was used for underlying a testbed for PacketIn messages. Any packet from the host was incremented to measure the rate of packet according to its device identification and its input port number.

An improved K-power means technique using minkowski distance metric and dimension weights for clustering wireless multipaths in indoor channel scenario

This paper investigates the performance of the 1-bit ADC in the wireless coded communication systems where the robust channel coding, protograph low-density parity-check code (LDPC), is employed. Integrated on-silicon and on-glass antennas for mm-wave applications

The paper presents several integrated high frequency antenna prototypes based on Silicon (Si) CMOS and on-glass technologies for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications. An on-chip loop antenna and dipole radiator are presented. In addition, a wide-band dipole-patch antenna design for the range of 74 – 104 GHz is integrated into a CMOS chip with an on-chip pulse generator. In addition, an implementation of a fully on-Silicon antenna array integrated with a timed-array transmitter is introduced.

Design and implementation of a lora communication system supporting edge computing on the smart multi-platform Iot gateway

The authors design and manufacture a Smart Multiplatform IoT Gateway (SMGW) and LoRa nodes that allow the implementation and evaluation of the proposed protocol in practice. The test results on a system of 50 LoRa nodes and the SMGW show that the proposed protocol works well when evaluating its performance in terms of reliability, latency, and power consumption. This proposed system is suitable for applications that require edge computing and is easily extendable to other IoT applications.

A study on the shutter time of a surveillance camera to improve speed detection accuracy of vehicles on highways and inner-city streets

Based on the operation time of the camera's optical sensor system including shutter time (ST) and sensor operating time, the accuracy of vehicle speed detection on highways as well as inner city streets can be significantly improved. The operation time of the camera’s sensor is essential for determination of frames over time in a vehicle surveillance system. Therefore, control of the shutter time ST will help a camera-based speed detection system to achieve much better accuracy

Research on traffic congestion detection from camera images in a location of Da Lat

This paper focuses on SVM, CNN, DenseNet, VGG, and ResNet models to detect traffic congestion from camera images collected at Nga 5 Dai Hoc, Da Lat. These images are labeled with the words traffic congestion or no traffic congestion. The experimental results have an accuracy of over 93%. The study is an initial contribution to a future system for predicting traffic congestion in Da Lat when the camera system is fully installed.
