Customary water resources governance in the Faase community of Ghana

The relevance of customary water governance system which served many communities well over centuries has reduced drastically. This is due to the introduction of the statutory system of governance. For some communities, this means scraping the indigenous customary practices that formed part of their daily activities.

An input-output augmented Kaya identity and application: Quantile regression approach

The proposed model also outperforms the basic Kaya Identity aside from estimating the input-output relationship impact on carbon emission at all quantile levels. These findings are externally valid for other African countries.

The association between polygyny statuses of currently married and in-union women and attitude towards intimate partner violence against women in Ghana

The study revealed that women in polygynous relationships were more likely to support IPV. These findings extend the literature on the relationship between polygyny and endorsement of IPV among reproductive-age women in Ghana. It also contributes evidence towards strengthening interventions and policies geared towards changing attitudes of women in polygynous unions towards intimate partner violence.

Competitive loan-groups and economic achievements of microcredit loan users in a group-lending program: Estimating the impacts of a self-selected loan group on the household income of its members: Evidence from India

This study sheds light on self-selected loan groups formed under a microcredit group-lending program and estimates how and the extent to which post-determined group-related factors reflecting the group atmosphere and rivalry among the group members affect the economic achievements of the loan users. Based on data from Maharashtra State, India, this study finds that social homogeneity and monitoring among members work as building blocks to increase the household income of a loan user, while fairness and frequent meetings with other members work as stumbling blocks.

Paradigm shifts in northern art, community and environment studies for art teacher education

This article explains the paradigm changes that have impacted the aims and methods employed in ACE studies since the 1990s. The discussion is framed by a Western theoretical shift from environmental aesthetics to new materialism, post-humanism and decolonisation. We conclude that ACE projects can enhance revitalisation and increase capacities to retain cultural pride and local ecocultures.

Estimating components of productivity growth of Indian high and medium-high technology industries: A non-parametric approach

This paper aims to measures the productivity growth and its components within the Indian high tech and medium high tech industries by employing a non-parametric-Malmquist productivity index over the period of 2008–2018. The findings of this study show that the productivity growth of both high tech and medium high tech industries is increasing over the time.

To connect or not to connect: Visitor preferences for Wi-Fi and cellular network service at a national park

Comparison of machine learning algorithms for content based personality resolution of tweets

This study endeavored to build a system that could predict an individual’s personality through SM conversation. Four BIG5 personality items (i.e. Extraversion (EXT), Consciousness (CON), Agreeable (AGR) and Openness to Experiences (OPN) equivalent to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) were predicted using six supervised machine learning (SML) algorithms.

A mini-experiment was conducted at the Department of Economics in Government Edward College, Pabna and the survey were conducted at different colleges in the same district of Bangladesh. Epidemics, lockdowns, and hypocrisy: The case of simulated reality

This paper derives from the preceding lacuna and engages the place of disease and epidemic discourse from the literary point of view. We argue that African societies have survived several epidemics in the past, including lockdowns and quarantines by engaging works that have demonstrated an understanding of the causes, courses, and impacts of epidemics in a simulated environment as obtainable in the fictional works of literature.
