Phát triển năng lực công nghệ thông tin và truyền thông cho sinh viên ngành sư phạm tiếng Anh ở trường Đại học Phú Yên
Đối với các cơ sở giáo dục đại học đào tạo ngành sư phạm (SP) nói chung, đặc biệt là SP Tiếng Anh, phát triển năng lực công nghệ thông tin và truyền thông (ICT) là một trong những yêu cầu cần thiết góp phần quan trọng phát triển năng lực Tiếng Anh, nâng cao chất lượng đào tạo đáp ứng nhu cầu xã hội trong bối cảnh hội nhập quốc tế hiện nay. Bài viết đề xuất các biện pháp chủ yếu phát triển năng lực ICT cho sinh viên ngành sư phạm (SVSP) Tiếng Anh ở Trường Đại học Phú Yên nhằm đáp ứng yêu cầu nêu trên.

Trong bài viết này, tác giả dùng phương pháp thu thập thông tin, tìm hiểu các hoạt động ngoài lớp học nhằm kết nối việc học trên lớp và hoạt động ngoài lớp học. Mục đích của tác giả là tập hợp các hoạt động ngoài lớp học giúp sinh viên tăng cường học từ vựng, kết nối kiến thức của họ với các kỹ năng thực tế để họ sẵn sàng đối mặt với những thách thức tiếng Anh từ các công việc sau này.

Để hỗ trợ công cuộc đào tạo đó, nhiều nhà nghiên cứu trong và ngoài nước đã tiến hành xây dựng bộ tiêu chí đánh giá năng lực giảng viên giảng dạy ngoại ngữ. Trong nghiên cứu này, tác giả mong muốn giới thiệu và đề xuất sử dụng bộ tiêu chí đánh giá năng lực các giảng viên giảng dạy Tiếng Anh Chuyên ngành.

Using moodle quiz to assist listening assessment: EFL students perceptions and suggestions
This study investigated the perceptions of EFL students at University of Foreign Languages, Hue University, about the use of the Moodle Quiz in listening tests and the benefits as well as problems they had when taking Moodle-based listening quizzes. A mixed method was adopted to collect data from 73 first-year English majors.

Reference and inference in English reading and implications in Vietnamese language classrooms

An investigation into EFL students’ perception of blended learning at University of Foreign Languages, Hue University
A survey was conducted with 102 students from Hue University of Foreign Languages (HUFL) English Department who had opportunity to take part in blended courses. In addition, a focus group discussion was also administered with 10 voluntary students. The findings from this study revealed the general perception of blended learning of EFL students and expressed their positive attitudes towards blended learning.

The effects of cognitive reading strategies instruction (CRSI) on students’ reading comprehension and their attitudes towards CRSI at the Language School
This eight-week quasi-experimental research was conducted to figure out how cognitive reading strategies affect non-English major students’ reading comprehension (RC) at Language School and their attitudes towards CRSI. Two intact classes with 36 students were divided into two groups, TOEIC119, control group (CG) and TOEIC120, experimental group (EG).

Teaching translation modules using moodle: A quantitative research at University of Foreign Languages, Hue University
This paper aims to research the effectiveness of using Moodle in teaching English-Vietnamese translation modules at University of Foreign Languages, Hue University. We mainly used the quantitative method to collect and analyze questionnaires given to both students and teachers and found out several benefits of blended learning.

The use of portfolios on EFL young learners’ sentence writing: A case at an English language centre in the Mekong Delta
The aim of this experimental study is two-fold: (1) to find out the extent that the portfolio affects EFL young learners’ sentence writing; (2) to explore learners’ attitudes towards the use of portfolio. Participants are 60 young learners enrolling Mover courses at an English language center situated in the Mekong Delta.
