To express habitual actions Diễn tả một hành động quen thuộc xảy ra đều đặn (một thói quen) Example: We always listen to music in the evening. 2. To describe a fact. Diễn tả một sự thật hiển nhiên. Example: Water boils at 100oC. Notes - chú ý: 1. Most verbs add –s in the third person singular. Phần lớn các động từ đều thêm –s ở ngôi thứ ba số ít. wear → wears speak → speaks But “go” and “do” are different. They add –es. Nhưng “go” và “do” là trường hợp ngoại lệ, phải thêm –es go → goes do → does 2. If the verb ends in –s, –sh or –ch, add –es. Nếu động từ kết thúc bằng đuôi –s, –sh, hoặc –ch, thêm –es finish→ finishes watch → watches 3. If the verb ends in a consonant + –y, the –y changes to –ies.
