AGOOD LEARNER HAS MOTIVATION
2 kinds of motivation:
o instrumental – learning a language as an instrument
o integrative – feeling warmly about the language
Integrative motivation is more powerful than instrumental motivation.
WHAT MOTIVATION IS IT?

5. to understand how English people think and feel
HINTS FOR TEACHERS
o Real motivation comes from within each learner.
o Good teachers provoke Ss’ interests & involvement in the learnt language.
