HDSL Dual Repeater
Soneplex® Broadband and Loop Extender Systems
Overview
High-bit-rate digital subscriber line (HDSL) circuits for the delivery of DS1 services can now be extended to 36,000 feet by implementing the newly introduced Soneplex main processor unit (MPU) module with software release 5.2 and the latest version Soneplex HDSL central office repeater and remote modules. This allows monitoring of the signals from the central office along each span.
Due to more and more demand being made for higher bandwidth services, hicap circuit growth has grown at an exponential rate. With the majority of these circuits requiring local loop lengths of less than 24,000 feet. HDSL has provided the carriers with an optimal advantage for high quality copper based services. Circuit requirements beyond 24,000 feet were typically fed with either T1 repeater or fiber optic transmission equip-ment.
Now, using Soneplex with its HDSL dual repeater application, carriers can continue their deployment of high quality HDSL services for hicap circuits requiring local loop lengths up to 36,000 feet.

Applications
Carriers can easily extend their HDSL loop distances to 36,000 feet by simply adding the latest version Soneplex HDSL modules, along with the MPU 5.2, into their existing Soneplex equipment. The new E-Series central office modules for central office Soneplex systems will fit into existing module slots and function along-side already installed modules. The B-Series HDSL repeaters will fit into standard 239-style apparatus cases in the field (e.g. the Soneplex Radiator).
