-To help sts get acquainted with the topic of unit 1 ,listen and read to understand the
text and get the structure "to wish ".

-Other skills: listen and write.
II.The objectives of the lesson
-By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know about some places Lan went to
with a foreign friend and some activities they took part in together;understand "present
wish".

Text book,radio,CD,pictures.
IV.Procedure
1. Warm up: * Chatting
Do you like travelling?
Have you ever gone to HN /HCMC...?
What did you use to do during the visit in HN?
HCMC?

2. Pre- teach vocabulary.
* Active words:
- ( to) correspond: trao đổi thư từ ( example)

3. Pre- reading.Open prediction
- Lan’s Malaysian pen pal came to visit her in Ha Noi what did they do and where
did they go we are going to read the text.
Can you guess Where she went and what she did during her stay.
- Get feedback.
4. While-reading:
-Asks students to read the text the second time , check their predictions and add some
more information.
- Ask students to read the text again to choose the correct option to complete the
sentences.

Rewrite all the answers into the notebooks.

- Do exercises in workbooks.

-To help students to make and respond to introductions and to listen for specific
information .
*Skill: -Main skill: Speak and listen.
-Other skills: Read and write.
II.The objective of the lesson
-By the end of the lesson, students will be able to make and respond to
introduction,to listen to specific information and select the correct pictures.
III.Teaching aids
-Radio,textbook,tape.
IV.Procedure

-Write new words.
-Make 3 sentences,using to wish.

at the pictures and tell the class what there is in each one, where the place is .

5.While listening
-Ask students to listen to the tape to check their guesses
- Ask students to listen to the text again to choose the correct pictures

6.Pre speaking
-Ask students to do exercise a( page 8) the students work in pairs to put the
sentences in the correct order to make a complete dialogue.

7.While speaking
- Ask students to take turn to be one of maryam’s friends and practise.
• Model:
A: Hello, You must be Yoko.
B: That’s right, I am.

B: Oh yes, very much. I like Vietnamese people and I love old cities in
Vietnam.
A: Do you live in the city ,too?
B: Yes.I live in Tokyo. Have you been there?
- A: No. What is it like?
B: It’s a busy big capital city. It’s very different from Hue.
A: I see.
-Ask students to make similar dialogues using the words given.
- Students work in pairs to practise dialogues.
-Teacher corrects their pronunciation.
8.Post listening and speaking
- Rewrite all the dialogues into the notebooks.
9.Homework assignment
- Finish your writing and do exercises II in the workbook.

comprehension, know more about Malaysia country.

Dear Mummy and Daddy,
I arrived at Noi Bai airport in the afternoon. It was 3 pm . Aunt Huong and her
daughter met me at the airport . Then they took me home by taxi.
You know, I ‘ve visited many interesting places in Ha Noi such as Ho Chi Minh’s
Mausoleum, History Museum and the temple of literature.
Huong’ daughter took me to meet her friend and they are very friendly.They
took me around some famous places in ha Noi, and we have tried different foods,
but I like best is noodles. I have also been to Dong Xuan Market and I bought a
lot of things .
I feel so happy and enjoy myself so much . The people here are so nice and
friendly, the foods are so delicious and the sights are so beautiful.
I will leave Ha Noi at 8am this Sunday and will arrive at Tan Son Nhat airport at
noon Please come and pick me up at 12am, Daddy.

- Ask students to work individually to use the pictures and the words in the box to
make sentences in order to answer the question: “ What did He/She do?”
