I. Grammar and structures: 1, Present simple tense:
a, Affirmative:
S + V/ Vs/es …
Ex: She goes to school everyday. I watch TV every morning.
Lan often plays badminton . * V: sh,ch,o,x,s
b, Negative:
S + don’t/ doesn’t +Vinf do not = don’t
does not = doesn’t
Ex: She doesn’t go to school tonight. c, Interrogative:
Do/ Does + S + Vinf? => Yes, S + do/does
No, S + don’t/ doesn’t Ex: Do Minh and Lan watch TV this afternoon?
Does she go to school today?
2, Past simple tense: a, Affirmative:
S + V2/ Ved
Ex: She went to school by bus yesterday. Minh watched TV last night.
a, buy bought d, return returned b, go went e, visit visited c, see saw f, talk talked
b, Negative:
S + did + not + Vinf did not = didn’t
Ex: She didn’t go to school by bus yesterday. Minh didn’t watch TV last night.
c, Interrogative:
Did + S + Vinf? => Yes, S + did/ No, S + didn’t. Ex: Did she go to school by bus yesterday?
Did Minh watch TV last night?
yesterday, ago, last night/ week/ month/ year/ Monday …
3. Why? – Because …
Why + AUX/ tobe + S …?
Ex: Why were you late for class yesterday? Because I had a cold.
4. Too/ So:
* Tobe (am/ is/ are/ was/ were)
S + be, too. Ex: She is a student. => I am a student, too.
So + be +S.
Ex: We are good students. => So, are they.
* Verbthường:
S + V/ Vs/es, too. (S + do/ does, too)
Ex: She hates eating fish. => I hate eating fish, too.
(I do, too) So + do/ does + S.
Ex: We like going fishing. =>So does he.
5. Either / Neither:
a. Tobe (am/ is/ are/ was/ were)
S + be + not, either. Ex: She isn’t a student.
=> They aren’t students, either. Neither + be +S.
Ex: We aren’t good students. => Neither are they.
b. Verbthường:
S + don’t/ doesn’t + V, either. Ex: She doesn’t live in the city. => I don’t live in the city, either. Neither + do/ does + S.
Ex: She doesn’t live in the city. => Neither do they.
